We had the opportunity of interviewing Kumar Divya Mani , an alum from Galgotias University in Greater Noida, India about: Exceptional Programs He is: a machine learning facilitator at Google until 2019, former leader of the robotics club at Galgotias, current trainee at the MIT & IDSS Applied Data Science Bootcamp, and upcoming affiliate alumni of MIT. Q: Further into the MIT Bootcamp, can you describe in depth a bit more what it is and how rigorous it is? A: I will be having a three live session per week by the MIT faculty and one or two days personalized mentoring sessions per week by professionals from an organization like Google, Genome Institute of Singapore , etc. This Bootcamp will be an application-based pedagogy and will span for over 12 weeks, where we will learn how to build solutions to real-world problems . And we will also explore the mathematical and programming technique in great detail. Q: How do you hope to benefit from it? A: It will have a profound impact on my professional and personal life. Professional because it will allow me to meet and connect with people from a diverse background, and will help my network grow within an industry. On a personal level, I think it's like climbing a ladder that is inclining on MIT itself. I believe that the knowledge and experience gained in this Bootcamp will eventually lead me to another home, MIT. Q: How did you find this opportunity? A: I usually browse through the website of MIT. I found it there. Q: As a machine learning facilitator at Google, what did you do? A: My task was to organize events on machine learning by working together with other facilitators. Q: How did you land this position? A: I emailed my resume to the person who was in charge of managing this program and told her that I wish to become a facilitator. Q: Why do you think it was important that you take this opportunity? A: It was important because I wanted to meet new people and learn how to manage large events.
